About Elizabeth Moreland.
Native St. Louisan Elizabeth Moreland has over thirty years of experience as an artist and art instructor. A member of the St Louis Artists’ Guild, she has sold hundreds of paintings and private commissions. She was invited to exhibit at the prestigious International Salon at the St. Louis Artist’s Guild in 2021. In 2024, her plein air painting, Malcolm Terrace Park, was awarded Best in Show at Creve Coeur’s first annual plein air painting competition. The painting was purchased by The Mercantile Library and Art Museum and is part of their permanent collection. She was juried into a competitive national group exhibition hosted by The St. Louis Artists’ Guild, Clearly Human. Her work appeared on PBS’s Donny Brook and her works are also in the permanent collection of the Sappington House Foundation.
Elizabeth grew up immersed in the outdoors and the fireflies, listening to the coyotes and whip-poor-wills at night, and the mourning doves at daybreak: “At night, my dreams were vivid, and, in these dreams, often the boundaries between outdoor spaces and interior ones had no edges. The woods blended seamlessly into my living space - I have no doubt that the architecture of my brain was structured and shaped by the countless hours spent outside. As an adult, I still have these kinds of dreams. My imagination had ample space and time to grow, and I still have not lost touch with my inner child.”
